4.5 stars Came here on a packed Friday evening, but the line moved quickly. We got our tacos within 2 minutes of ordering! Seats are not guaranteed as the space is small. We ordered the Campechano, Suadero, Pastor, and Tripa. Tacos were on corn tortillas only!, so for flour lovers out there, don't be surprised. They were very flavorful and the meat quality was pretty high, but they were small and didn't really have a wow factor. My friend also commented that the Pastor was drier than usual, like other reviewers mentioned. Overall I liked that the place was clean and the staff were friendly. I would still come back for a quick bite.

Luckily stumbled into Taqueria Ramirez when there was no line, although that quickly proved to short-lived. As I sat down with my order at the counter, a steady stream of hungry patrons arrived, making for plenty of great people-watching while I enjoyed my tacos. I ordered the longaniza (spiced ground pork) and the suadero (slow-cooked beef confit) tacos, which were $5 each. There is a little toppings bar in the back, where you can load your tacos with cilantro, onions, salsa, and limes. I absolutely loved the suadero, which was rich, soft, and the perfect meaty bite. Imagine tender brisket, and multiply that by 10 on the melt-in-your-mouth scale. The longaniza was not as fatty as I expected, and it was almost gristly. The texture was a little dry and chalky but I did enjoy the flavor. I'd like to return to try the al pastor (everyone seemed to be ordering this) and the tripa next time. I think 2-3 tacos would be enough for a meal, and would definitely recommend bringing some hand sanitizer. There is a small bathroom to wash your hands, but a little extra backup never hurts.

If you want tacos, definitely come to Taqueria Ramirez. You will have to wait in line but it is worth it. I don't think you can go wrong with their tacos. Plus, they have a stacked salsa bar where you can put as much salsa to your hearts content. The inside is small, so be prepared to grab a seat inside if there is space or sit in their area outside. Highly recommend their tacos!!

*4.5/5 I don't typically follow the hype but Taqueria Ramirez has earned its laurels. Space: Tiny! Cramped! Medium-sized line on a Saturday afternoon. Got lucky enough to snag barstools right in front of the open kitchen (dinner AND a show?!). Moderate AC. Definitely a hop-in hop-out establishment. Service: Pretty smooth despite the crowd. The self-serve bar of salsas & veg makes for easy customization. Food: Worth the $5 a pop. I was satiated with three, my favorite being the Campechano (aka half-Suadero half-Longaniza). So flavorful & juicy omg. Loved the Tripa too; the texture was so soft, but I dumped on too much spicy salsa that it masked the meat's natural flavors. Al Pastor was dry (sad). Is it my fave taco spot in the city? Is it better than Los Tacos? Verdict's still out. Will definitely come back for a second opinion tho & will happily hit up sister restaurant Carnitas Ramirez as well.
